This place has some of the best Asian cuisine I have ever had. We started out with some sushi and the Peking duck bun which where both fantastic, I am very picky about sushi as well. For some reason if sushi is not I premium quality I feel sick after, defiantly no problem with that here. For my entree I had the spicy combination ramen and it was fantastic, if you are jaded by the idea of ramen being like the cheap 99 cent packs come here and they will fix you opinion with how ramen is supposed to taste right away. We also got their stressful soufflé and banana spring rolls for dessert which where amazing as well. I was also a big fan of their specialty drink the shogun, made with bourbon, black tea, honey and an orange slice. Overall 5/5 stars Service 5/5stars Food- presentation and taste 6/5 stars Will defiantly repeat here

Truly outstanding. The decor and atmosphere inside is awesome. It is upscale and has both outdoor and indoor seating. The complimentary valet was also a nice touch. They have a great selection of asian beers. The food was delicious. I highly recommend their fried rice. It has delicious pork, shrimp and eggs in it. The rolls we had were also delicious but the best thing I ate was the Peking Duck Bao Buns. They were out of this world, they really were the best duck taco I have ever had. The M&M Soufflé is their signature dessert and was also delicious. Excellent experience all around.

Blown away by taste. Absolutely decadent appetizers and the most wonderful scallops with coconut sticky rice you could imagine...I must have been In heaven the minutes I spent eating...definitely worth a visit if in Palm Beach.

This is the best asian food I've ever had. I got the thai curry and was impressed with every bite. Each little chunk of food in this dish was tasty on its own. There were seared sweet potato chunks just the right consistency. It had tiny onion chunks perfectly seared and still a little bit crunchy. My favorite part of the dish was mango slices that were cooked in a savory sauce. Their fried rice is a side dish but impressive on its own. It has shrimp, chicken, and beef, each of them cooked perfectly and not greasy and not too salty. Their attention to detail on all the vegetables in this dish is incredible. Each thing was perfectly seared with the right about of crunchiness. The lightly breaded scallions on top put this dish way ahead of any fried rice dish I've ever had. Nobody can complain about the portions here. I had to take home the fried rice and thoroughly enjoyed it the next day.

Love the Breakers and love the attention we get when we go there. Specially at all their restaurants, they really have the well knowledge of what service is. They yes charge more but the atmosphere like in Echo is awesome . Vibrant and exciting ! The place inside is exciting and the music , decor and food reflect it. The sushi and Thai food well awesome. Great small plates ;like the ribs and the dumplings. Good seafood also wow.The menu has something for everyone and is very extended , i mean all the way to Peking Duck which is delicious perfectly cooked. Some fun desserts and a great bar scene and menu. Some of these drinks are amazing and are feature at that sister bar HMF , another Breakers awesome establishment. Want trendy and awesome food with a cool atmosphere , say no more and come to Echo. And they have Valet!

Perfect location, good food. Friendly people, really recommended for dating, :) however the price is higher than the regular sushi places but you get what you pay for.

I was really looking forward to this place. Now I'm sitting here at the end of my meal, neither full nor buzzed. Drinks were weak and uninspired. Food was OK at best. Yellowtail appetizer was good. Palm beach roll and hurricane rolls were fine but nothing special. Nothing better than you would get at any sushi place. Peking duck buns were the best part but still nothing special. No foodgasm. I thought the spare ribs were gross but my husband liked them. The service was ABYSMAL!! Our waitress took forever to get our drink order. Over 45 minutes till we ate (on a Tuesday). Took forever between courses. Waitress never checked on us, never asked if I wanted another drink, didn't give us clean plates between courses. Everything took forever! The soufflé was very good but not enough to save the meal. Overall shitty time.

We came here for NYE dinner and we have only good things to report about the service and the food. I ordered the Thai curry chicken which was a perfect balance of spices and sauce served with jasmine rice. My son ordered lo mein and he devoured it. However, the highlight on the menu was the miso sea bass which was almost a shame to eat, perfectly cooked and melted in your mouth! Will come back because I heard they have a good happy hour too!

Monday night, I met one of my clients here to discuss business and we ordered dinner and drinks. This is not my first time here, but it had been such a long time, that I completely forgot how great the ambiance is, and how fantastic the food is as well. Service is top notch (as always). The last time I was here, was in 2010 for a agent meeting about a Mercedes commercial. Back then, I used to eat sushi, but now, being vegetarian, I find some things on the menu that I can still have. The sushi was excellent back in the day, and my client said her food was delicious this past Monday. (I'll take her word for it, but my memory was that it's Allllll true). It's such a nice area, and we found ourselves working off dinner with an after business dinner stroll right on down worth ave. If you love sushi, you will be LOVE ECHO.

Was not impressed . Sushi very blah . Chicken dumpling tiny and weird tasting . Sea bass was ok. Very overpriced for what it is . Would never come back .

Came for Happy Hour. Half-price rolls and drinks! Had the Eel Roll and Palm Beach Roll. They were delicious. Served with complimentary edamame. Our server was very nice and accommodating even though we were cutting it REAL close to the 6:30pm cut-off. We had a lovely patio seat and a great experience. I don't think I would come here for dinner unless someone else was treating! BUT next time I am in PB I will come back for HH at Echo.

This restaurant is associated with The Breakers Hotel and I think it's about time they break the chain. While The Breakers is still fantastic, Echo is only So-So. The food is average and the atmosphere is of a tired Chinese spot. I ordered a Dragon Roll to begin and it was quite good but the hot saki was presented in a single glass difficult to hold and loose within the frame. The quality was like the atmosphere, So-So. A few other dishes ordered were of average quality. The music was something I'm used to. If you're looking for this kind of food and no other newer restaurant similar is available, you'll be okay but it's nothing memorable.

Great ambiance. Perfect for sushi lovers as well as those that what something else. Great variety.

Owned by one of the best resorts in Palm Beach - Echo has delicious food. If you are staying at the Breakers they offer free transportation to it. They have a mix of Asian food including my two favorites - Japanese and Thai food with their Pad Thai and their tuna and salmon tartare being my favorites. They also have a great happy hour with 50% off sushi rolls and cocktails! Come here for happy hour, "casual" dinner (it's PB so dress accordingly) or to have a quick refreshing cocktail and a sushi roll at the bar.

A great scene and vibe here. So Palm beach, but that's a positive. Sure the food is overpriced, but what would you expect? The service was great and a nice patio to eat on. Great sesame chicken dish. Wife enjoyed the sushi.

We went to echo this past weekend . We were staying at breakers and there is a free shuttle that drops you there! Yes that means you can have a few cocktails. The cocktail list was delicious and wine and sake list was high end. We sat outside and had food from both adult a a kids menu. They can make any of the kids item kind of bland which is great for picky eaters. I had the hot and sour soup and some sashimi and sushi. This is cross Asian cuisine and the menu had a lot of delicious food ... Chinese, Thai, Japanese. Food was fresh and service was really great. The chocolate dessert was as my child said "OMG delicious" . Go here don't hesitate, especially if staying at breakers.

Nonstop techno music. Piss poor decor. Apps were fine; seaweed salad and shrimp egg rolls. Pad thai was tasteless. Sesame chicken tasted like old foot, or ass. Our waitress had way too many tables and we never saw her. The bus boy was the most attentive member of the staff.

Visiting west palm beach with my boyfriend for our vacation . Found this place and let me tell you , such great happy hour prices . Half off certain drinks and from the first page of the menu from 5 to 630. They picked up quickly around than as well. Our server name was Rosie and we will be coming back before we go back home !

Ate here again and it was good. Dragonfly Sampler Appetizer was the best part of the meal together with great sake. On the other hand the main courses were good but nothing better than that.

  • Mark I.

I liked this place because of the service. I had the pad Thai and it was pretty good. For dessert I had he Heath bar soufflé which was pretty good but not as good as it sounded. The drinks were decent. Probably won't be coming back here because the prices don't really justify the food and drink.

This is a great place for sushi and drinks. We like to dine out on the patio if the weather is nice and have had many a great meals here. The owner is super friendly and makes you feel at home. It's a trendy place that doesn't disappoint time after time... It's one of our first stops with our out of town guests looking for a great meal. Check it out. Rob

There's a crazy array of asian food offered on their menu. Japanese, Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese. It feels like an up scale version of PF Changs. Another restaurant trying to serve asian cuisine for the American palette.

    (3)
  • Chris F.

First off, we were staying at the breakers and there was a free shuttle from the hotel and back...considering the hot/humid weather that was worth it's weight in gold! Secondly...place was great! Had a great happy hour with half priced cocktails and sushi. Appetizers and drinks were prompt, sushi portion & prices were excellent, and the bar was fun. All in all...a very nice experience.

My husband took me here for my birthday. First impression was wow, this is a REAL fancy place. The food was not up to par with the atmosphere whatsoever. We ordered tuna tataki as an appetizer which is one of my favorites at a good sushi restaurant. For 24 bucks, it better be good. Ended up being mediocre at best, I've had bigger portions of way, way better tuna tataki for around 12 dollars. I ordered moo shu pork as my main course. not sure what kind of sauce they used but I did not like it, and pork was full of fat. ended up switching meals with the hubby which ordered chicken ramen.. Not so great either. The rice they served on the side was inedible, totally dried out. My husband usually picks out great places for special occasions but I think he hosed on this one. :(

So have you ever gone to P.F. Changs and said, that was good, I just wish it was three times more expensive? If so this is the place for you! The sushi is defintely better than the hot entrees. Sevice is uniformly excellent and the bartenders are great. The souffle is hands down the best thing on the menu.

  • Alicia N.

Always delish sushi- fresh and creative! Everyone who works there is fantastic- and ask for Jess at the bar!! The bar scene is fun! They also have Asian style cuisine that is also excellent! New outdoor patio in the back!

[rating the happy hour, not main menu] Went at opening time at 5:30 for the happy hour which has 1/2 price sushi and drinks. The specialty cocktails looked great. Bottles of Kirin Ichiban for under $4 are a great deal for Palm Beach. The sushi rolls were very good: dragon roll was a beauty. All rolls had great fish/rice ratios and service was good. If I were staying at the Breakers again, this would be a must on the first night (free shuttle to the door from the Breakers hotel main fountain, every 10 minutes or so).

  • Amanda S.

The sushi here is the best in town and I am a big sushi eater. Love it they have outside eating and it's very pretty inside. Love ordering the California role. They also have great service.

Heres the run down- first time there Atmosphere- stylish asian- but way way to dark- weird small glass amber ball lights over table- cast an unpleasant dark yellowish glow over table and food- could not read menu or see food properly-- coloring inside is mostly browns-- needs a makeover--lighten it up-needs to be in the 21st century-- had to use my cell phone to see food as many were doing- get rid of those lights! Drinks Lychee martini- they missed the mark on it at 14.00!!- washed out flavor need more cointreau and vod and another lychee in it- Thai peach-- lacked any peach flavor- they forgot to put peach schnapps in it - should have sent it back--14.00! potstickers-good-- should have been over the top, -- 4 reg size pieces only,, for 12.00! Vietnamese Spring- good, 4 small pieces again 12$ ! way way to spicy dipping sauce- could not use it Whole fried snapper-great- ! with Chinese sausage fried rice-- 42$ but more than enough for 2! wonderful Chocolate chip souffle- the best presentation i ever saw!i have had many around the world- - but not the best best flavor - lacked Any major chocolate flavor very light colored not like a real chocolate souffle and overly sugary sweet- 12$ more than enough for 2 staff was great from Valet , hostess,, manager and waiter

awesome place! My girls and I are in Wellington for the Horse Show, and ventured over to Palm Beach for dinner. Being SuperBowl sunday, everyone else was watching the game so we had the place to ourselves. The service was attentive but not in an annoying way, the food was awesome. Will def. return. I'm sure reservations are absolutely necessary on a normal weekend night. great ambiance. would be a good date place!

I joined my husband for a drink. Free edamame! Absolutely loved my sake and cucumber martini. It was really refreshing. My husband tried the chicken curry and it was great - very flavorful. The shuttle to and from the Breakers was very easy. You pick it up right out front of the Breakers and then the restaurant will call it when you're ready to go back. 318/365

Peking Duck overrated. Real Peking Duck has buttery flesh combined with crisp skin The contrast is mouth watering. At Echo the meat is dry as an 80 year old bird If you want great Peking Duck go to Peking Duck in NY or Koi Palace outside of San Francisco. At Echo try something else. Better yet, avoid the deafening noise and dine elsewhere .

  • Leah K.

It smells bad in here. Like brunt fajitas from el torito. The staff is rude. Like they think they are models in Bev Hills but they aren't. They're fugly. And Jesus is the sushi average at best and totally overpriced. Yellowtail sashimi ap was tiny and the sauce overpowered the taste of the fish. This is NOT a sushi place. It's a fo Asian fusion restaurant that was like super cool in NYC in 2002 and then closed in 2004 because it was lame and not that good. Not sure what the dining scene is in Palm Beach but this totally overrated.

    (3)
  • Erica B.

Echo had a nice ambiance. Food was mediocre and very overpriced. Don't get the soufflé that is all over the yelp pictures! It looks fabulous but it is so bland. A better choice would be the fried banana Sunday.

Came here on consecutive nights for their 5:30p-7p happy hour. Amazing value with excellent sushi. The tempura shrimp roll and cardamom cocktail was great. Did I mention 50% off during happy hour? Roger the bartender has been there for 12 years, and will take care of you.

I absolutely loved this restaurant. The drinks were great (hot sake of course), the sushi appetizers were fantastic, the main course of sea bass was one of the best I have every had, and the chocolate desert was unique and incredible. This is 5 stars all the way.

This place was awesome! Our favorite spot visited while in Palm Beach. We were a party of 8 and trust me when I tell you, we ate! Prices were a bit expensive, but it was all delicious. The restaurant offer seating both inside and outside; inside it's a bit dark for those that don't like dim light dining. We had every type of eater with us, from vegetarians to carnivores, small portioners to face stuffers. What we ordered: Seaweed Salads, Crab & Cucumber Salads, Palm Beach Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, Spicy Salmon Roll, Spring Rolls, Calamari, Shishito Peppers, Grand Marnier Shrimp, Sea Bass, Vegetable Pad Thai, Short Ribs, Peking Duck, Snapper, Beef Satay and for desert we had the Echo Dessert, Mochi Pops and Azuki Donuts. Everything was delicious and would suggest to any family on a vacation looking for a good quality dinner without concerns of thinning your wallet a bit. How expensive? A Seaweed salad is $10, that's around $3-4 more than most places I frequent.

Awesome sushi in a gorgeous setting. If I had a dollar for every $400,000.00 car I saw drive by the restaurant, I could probably afford to live in Palm Beach. The sushi here is really good. We ordered off the specialty roll menu and enjoyed everything (the Spicy Dragon roll was my favorite, but like I said, everything was tasty). We sat on the front porch and, apparently, sushi is half price on weekdays (5pm-7pm, I think) if you sit on the porch. I recommend you take advantage of the deal, 'cause it'll save you a ton of money - a rare occurrence in Palm Beach. Service was good and the atmosphere was really classy. I wish I could write a bit more, but all we did was drink and eat sushi rolls. Trust me, you'll like it.

Went for a dinner with my wife at her birthday. Prices are high. I found a piece of paper napkins in Hurricane roll. Server sad "it's happens, I'm apologies " !!! Tables and chairs are DIRTY!!! Never gonna come back or tell my friends to go there.

Echo is a beautiful restaurant and dinning on the patio makes a great meal even better. The drink menu has some delicious and unusual offerings and I enjoyed the pink Cadillac. The food is upscale Asian fusion and each dish is prepared with the highest quality vegetables and protein. Service was excellent and we will plan to return for another meal when we are back in the area.

4 Years later and I'm still giving 5 stars. My favorites still continue to be the Duo of Salmon and Tuna Tartare and Tuna Tataki. Never gets old. And I came here again for my Birthday in 2011. Highly recommend. If you want to get cozy then make reservations ahead of time and ask to sit at one of the booths in the back near the mirrors. Or if it's a nice evening out then ask to sit outside on the couches. Great on any night of the week , you will surely run into people you know. It's fun, lively, and upbeat and the bartenders (and servers) are very nice and attentive. It's also fun to dine at the bar (esp if you're on a date). Make sure you end your meal with the chocolate molten cake. 2011 Bday Pic outside Echo twitpic.com/5w66tr Molten cake pic facebook.com/photo.php?f…

wow. I went here for a friend's birthday - oddly enough I had never heard of it. Well, it was wonderful. We ate ourselves til we couldn't move. Starters: Tuna Tartare - so delish and flavorful Chicken Shumai - great Veggie Tempura - perfect amount of batter - great dipping sauce Main Meal: Sesame Chicken - Nice and sweet, fresh Ginger Beef - so tasty Fried Rice - flavorful Dessert - Chocolate/Coconut Soufflé - tasted like a delicious mounds bar - I loved it. It was huge though! I had a great Lychee martini and wonderful sake!

Echo was excellent. From the manager who greeted us, to our waiter who always showed up at just the right time (and we were sitting at the sushi bar, land of the oft forgotten) to, and especially, Ryan our Phillipino sushi chef! We had a most enjoyable evening. My grey goose martini and my wife's Mohitos were excellent, the kind of drink you have to say is perfectly prepared. My wife is not a big sushi fan but that's all she ate and asked for more. High recommendations for the Deluxe eel roll and the tuna Tataki. The eel was fresh and not dried out. The vinaigrette for the Tataki was very fresh. My uni with quail egg were really delicious, very fresh. Salmon sushi was mild as fresh should be. Best if all the dessert we shared was Tempura banana split which was a deconstructed thing you could modify with three different nuts and two sauces and a 5 spice whipped cream. You could try what you want and add to the three types of ice cream sitting on warm banana tempura. Happy hour half price on sushi and drinks so we ate like royalty for under $100!!

Note: On Yelp I review exclusively sushi bars. An excellent place for sushi. A little more new age fusion than a classic sushi bar. Although the selection of fish was fairly standard, the quality was top notch. The chef was very friendly with a high attention to detail. He eagerly jumped on the opportunity to choose my evening menu and provided one or two pieces at a time. His meal selection was fantastic. The wasabi was a mix of standard horseradish and real wasabi (in case you didn't know 95%+ of all wasabi in sushi restaurants is really horseradish), so a plus, but not quite as strong as the few top joints in S. Fl. A little on the pricey side, but not nearly as bad as you might think being a Breakers Hotel related restaurant. Makes my top ten in S. Fl, and the best in Palm Beach County.

I do love the food at echo, more so when I get take-out than when I eat there. The staff can be snobby and there are times when you come in without a reservation and it will be pretty empty but they will still act like they are fitting you in. The atmosphere is great but it is super expensive and not very filling it will only last you a little while until you are hungry again. I would go here for a special occasion since the food is so good, but there are a lot of things that prevent me from becoming a regular.

Some places you just walk into and say "Hell Yes." Hip, trendy with downbeat trip hop music and the food is Fan-#@!%ing-diculous. (that would be fantastic ,f-word, ridiculous all in one) The Palm Beach roll with the Conch topping makes me act strange. I take this roll, smear it all over my face and run out into the street yelling at passing cars telling them to stop and lick my face. If you're not into sushi their dishes will make you feel warm and moist too. I had a bite of my friends pad thai. Then I had another and another. I told them to just go ahead and order another one because I wasn't going to stop. At the end of it all they brought out a chocolate chip mouse thing. The waitress took a spoon full of Baileys cream and inserted it into the mountain of chocolate mousse. "Really, did you really have to add more calories and flavor to an already perfect dessert dish?" The waitress turned and locked eyes with me. "yes I do," she said.

Florida food salvation! I didn't know how much I missed exceptional dining until I ended up here. Expert sushi flavors and preparation. We had some amazing rolls with a bottle of Fair Maiden. These are some of the best rolls I have ever eaten and I actually know sushi chefs. The Hurricane, thank you for using real king crab. The White Tiger, escolar is one of my all time favorites. Spicy Dragon, you can actually taste all the individual ingredients. Oh, and the most beautiful shrimp egg roll I have ever seen. Bring on the bubbles and entrees, Miso Sea Bass, Black Cod and Sea Scallops for a table of four. These is some of the best seafood I have ever eaten, not over flavored or drowned in sauce. Every taste came through delicately and perfect. I love this place and will be back often. Rounding out the Echo greatness was the staff and buzz.

This is the best sushi in town, full stop. I always sit at the bar, as Charles and Michael are phenomenal bartenders and awesome guys to chat to. Every roll is perfect, but the Palm Beach Roll with conch is a must-have for first timers. It's always packed, mostly with regulars during season. Great vibe, very loungey. I agree with some of the other yelpers that the televisions with ESPN are a misstep. turn them off.

Finally, a hip restaurant in Palm Beach! As with most Palm Beach restaurants, this place is also over-priced, but I'll definitely be giving this place more of my business. The sushi was our favorite course of the meal. The Palm Beach Roll and the Spicy Dragon roll were very memorable. The Duck wings and pork ribs were good, but not nearly as good as the sushi rolls. We were too stuffed to order main meals, although the presentations of the dishes that were being served at the tables by us were perfect. Great cocktails and friendly, professional staff. This place is such a breath of fresh air. Being new to the area, I've been looking for a more hip place to dine. Many of the restaurants in the area are either stuffy, or too traditional.

I usually do not write reviews but the reason I went to Echo was based on the reviews and after my experience feel compelled to write a review. The food was average and the service poor. I felt very rushed and the staff was inattentive. I love sushi by this sushi was less than average for the price. Overall not goo value for money and totally over rated. Perhaps when first open was great but not something I recommend a present.

I have been here several times and have never been disappointed. The staff is exceptional, especially the bar tenders. They can make exotic and unique drinks that will blow your mind. The sushi is always fresh and there are some truly unique items. They can also make anything you ask for if needed. Be aware, in season on a weekend night it may get crowded. But that is to be expected from such a delicious place.

My husband and I just had dinner here 2 days ago & we absolutely loved it! The ambiance is great, although we both felt it was a bit too dark to be able to read the menu (I had to use the candle to read it). Our waiter was fantastic, the drinks were excellent, and the food was delicious! The extensive Asian-Fusion menu allows even the pickiest eaters to find something they'll like. I had a tuna roll (forget the name) and the chicken wonton dim sum, both of which were very good. My husband had the lettuce wraps (the full peanuts thing wasn't my favorite--I like it finely chopped) and the sesame chicken, which were fantastic. We also had the coconut soufflé, which was so light, fluffy and just delicious! It's surprising that other reviewers had such negative experiences, especially since we were so pleased with our waiter! Definitely go for the soufflé, it's worth it!

The Breakers does everything well so it's no surprise that their off-site Asian restaurant, Echo, is just as fabulous as the rest of the resort. The Breakers provides a shuttle to Echo, as well as the Flagler Steakhouse even though it's really just a few blocks away. Palm Beaches don't like to walk...it's not good for the Blahniks. Once inside my husband and I were immediately seated at a table for 4. We asked for something a bit cozier (afterall, we were staying at the breakers to celebrate our 1 year anniversary!) so they found us a nice 2 seater. However, once the large plates of food came out we realized a little extra space would have been nice. The menu had many great options and we had trouble deciding between sushi or chinese type of dishes. Fortunately, our waitress Katie was a rockstar and happy to help! First, we needed some wine to celebrate! We picked out a lovely bottle of sauvignon blanc. And once we had a little buzz it was time for some food! we opted for a combo of sushi and some of the chinese entrees. Katie recommended the Palm Beach and Mori-San rolls. She said the Palm Beach roll was especially good with spicy conch. Conch and I are not friends thanks to a boat trip many years ago when I got a bit sea sick and threw lots of conch up. Ugh. But it's been 10 years so I decided to give it another shot....and it was surprisingly good and stayed down this time. Phew! And the Mori-San was yummy too. We also split the miso sea bass, which was melt in your mouth good! This would have probably been enough food, but Katie insisted we get an order of famous Echo's fried rice as well...and I can see why it's such a popular dish. It's not a celebration without dessert so we ended our decadent meal with the tempura banana sundae. My goodness- quite the banana sundae! And my husband was nice enough to let me eat all the chocolate...that's when you know you have a good hubby. One year ago we had a dream wedding at the Breakers and thanks to them again (and Echo!) we had a dream 1 year anniversary celebration.

AMAZING! Went for Happy Hour which is the only way to go with Half Off Sushi and Drinks. You MUST MUST order the Palm Beach roll with Conch it was Ridiculous! It is now my favorite piece of sushi! Green Lotus cocktail was outstanding with just the right amount of sweetness. We will definitely be back, probably regularly ; )

Excellent! Warm yet hip atmosphere. Staff is very well trained and friendly. The food..........awesome. Unusually good miso soup. Have a couple pieces of sushi for sure then choose from an amazing menu one of their entrees. Last night I had the ginger beef, it might be my new favorite. (I'm eating my way through the menu) Be sure to order the chocolate soufflé at the beginning of your meal and you will not be disappointed. It's a little bit of a splurge, but my bf and I order 1 miso, 4 pieces sushi, 1 entree with extra side of fried rice and of course the soufflé. Perfect amount of food. Oh, and the saki selection is worth looking into. Enjoy

When you're stuck at The Breakers without a car, or motivation to get a cab, you aren't left with many options. Fortunately, just a few blocks away is Echo. I'm always craving sushi, so we decided to get take out one night. The atmosphere inside is vibrant and modern. I actually wanted to stay once we were there, but my coworkers were already hearing their beds calling. Oh well, next time. I love that this place is flexible and will let you rearrange rolls to accommodate your taste. I don't care much for California rolls, so the sushi chef made me a rainbow roll with spicy tuna instead at no additional charge. I also got some uni. They packaged our orders nicely with all the fixin's. Even after a steamy 20 minute walk back to the hotel, my sushi was fresh and delicious. I can't wait to come back and enjoy the entire experience next time in the dining room.

Good sushi but extremely over priced. Would rather spend $30 for Chinese delivery to my door. Tastes better too. Ginger beef entree smelled great but taste was very bland. Dessert was offensively big and tasted stale. Not a great wine list to choose from. Service was horrible,in the beginning it felt rushed tried to take away our plates multiple times before we were done. Towards the end it was hard to get anyone to our table. Same cocktail ordered twice, but wasn't consistent. Wouldn't go again, even if it was free.

Sushi is fantastic!! Great modern atmosphere. Order a fabulously good Pink Bamboo drink ( just be careful, it likes to sneak up on you fast) Selection isn't huge but the quality and surrounding is great.

ONe of my favorite restaurants in the world. The Peking Duck is the best I've had and everything else is amazing too.

Like this place quite a bit - excellent Peking duck, solid dim sum, many other Chinese dishes, and good sushi if you like that. Go early and have reservations. Very much a cocktail scene at night and it gets crowded. It is owned by the Breakers so if you are staying there you shouldn't have a problem.

One of my favorite restaurants. I really love the decor in this place. It's just beautiful. The sake is awesome and they come in the prettiest little flower pedestal glasses. My boyfriend always gets the whole fried red snapper. The presentation is great. They make it look like it is swimming towards you. Great place.

Matt and I just happened to walk by Echo as we were checking out the area around our hotel (Bradley Park on Sunset Ave.). It looked cute so I pulled it up on my BB's Yelp app. Any place with so many 4- and 5-star ratings, reportedly great sushi, and a dessert described as "amazeballs" was clearly a must-try in our book. We made an 8 p.m. reservation for a Wednesday evening and we were glad we did, as many tables seemed full, though they began to free up by 9-ish. This is clearly a place to see & been seen; break out the trendy duds. The location seems little random considering the surroundings (e.g. Publix, small doctor's offices, houses of worship of varying stripes, and a handful of high-end consignment shops). Wine and sake lists seemed to offer a nice array of choices, but I was more interested in the cocktail list. Prices were steep (we're talking no less than $13 for a glorified Kir Royale) and the mixers trendy-bordering-on-cliche, but I liked my "Zen-tini" (Absolut Ruby Red, lime juice, a couple other things) and the Cham-Passion (champagne, Chambord, maybe cranberry too?) and Matt liked his Lychee Martini (just vodka & lychee juice) well enough. Our nice server informed us of a seared escarole appetizer not listed on the menu. We had escarole for the first time late last summer and loved it, so it was an easy choice. Several thin pieces of seared fish came in a light sauce topped w/roe and chives. -also- a giant bowl of salted edamame will arrive at your table while you wait for your cocktail and peruse the menu. who knew it was so fun to munch on with a zen-tini?? and I feel healthy doing it... Instead of getting one large main dish for each of us, we wanted to try a bit of everything. Other Yelp-ers said good things about the Duo Tartare from the Appetizer list. Loved! I think we preferred the tuna half of the duo (the other half being salmon), but not by a huge margin or anything. The fish sits on top of rice that seems like its been fried. Makes a rich background for the light fish. From the sushi list, we picked the Rainbow roll - a California roll sporting tuna, salmon, "wahoo" (no clue), and avocado on top. Great decision. A Cali roll with some stuff on top is deceptively simple. Really pretty presentation and everything was great together. From the small plates list, we chose the shrimp eggrolls. Wouldn't call them anything spectacular. The plum sauce they were in definitely reduced them to something more on par with a P.F. Chang's offering (not that we don't love a good PF Chang's visit every now and then!!). After reading on Yelp that the chocolate souffle was "amazeballs," we made sure to put our order in early for that experience (as it takes a long time to prep). "Amazeballs" is a pretty high bar to set for sure, but I was definitely impressed with the towering cloud of whipped air and chocolate and the gooey stuff underneath. A must-get just for the spectacle alone. Almost a little "too" sweet, but a forgivable offense. Definitely a fun place for fancy date night on our few nights in Palm Beach. Would like to go back one day, and would recommend it!

Echo is not the best Sushi place in the area, but the only place in Palm Beach island you can expect decent quality sushi and service. If you love sushi go there during happy hours. You will not be disappointed.

Round two of our experiencing the Breakers Dining Collection establishments by participating in their Three-For-All promotion was on June 3rd, a recent Sunday evening. My partner and I arrived promptly at our reservation time, 7:00PM. We were seated immediately at a comfortable four-top in their VERY DARK (maybe it was just the contrast with the still bright outside light shining through the windows) and only sparsely occupied dining room. The glitzy décor was kind of a dated Vegas meets Chinatown theme. Background music seemed excessively loud and could best be described as a curious, and sometime jarring, blend of singsong Asian and disco. It was all kind of an unsettling ambiance. Menus and complimentary steamed edamame beans were presented, to be followed shortly by previously ordered cocktails (Absolute and Beefeater up, $14.50 and $12.00 respectively) which were very generous pours, but could have been better chilled. My partner, holder of the complimentary meal card, was invited to choose any appetizer, entrée and dessert from the entire regular menu. I opted to select my meal from the more limited, but certainly adequate, three course $39.50 prix fixe summer menu. His starter was the salt and pepper calamari served with a sweet and spicy Thai chili sauce, while mine was the lobster Rangoon (both regularly $13). We agreed that the calamari was outstanding, not over cooked or greasy, sweet with a nice bite and very abundant. The Rangoon was pedestrian and save for the coral color of the sauce, void of any semblance of lobster. For his main course my partner choose the Orange Beef ($30.) described on the menu as filet mignon with eggplant, green beans and orange rind. While he did favor his choice I found the beans to be almost raw and an overly sweet orange sauce. My pork pad Thai ($22.) was nothing special, sadly not even as good as I've had at Wattana, my favorite neighborhood Thai take-out in West Palm Beach, where it's priced at $8.95. With his beef he enjoyed a couple of glasses of Rosenblum red Zinfandel ($11. each) and I a second Beefeater. For the dessert course we each choose the house specialty, cocoanut and chocolate chip soufflés ($12. each). If you like sweet, you will like this offering, if you don't, not so much. Our check after the complementary food was deducted, but after tax, totaled $106. In spite the aforementioned failings, this seemed more then reasonable given the quality of the food and service as well as the overall dining experience. However, had we paid regular menu prices for the same meal, we would have spent $173. without a tip, which is much more then the meal was worth. In summary, while this meal at Echo was superior to our earlier Breakers culinary experience at Top of the Point, it was only marginally so. We look forward to using the remaining Breakers Dining Collection promotion offering at the Flagler Steakhouse and will of course share feedback for that occasion. Hopefully the commentary will be more positive.

My GF and I decided to try Echo after looking on Opentable. We tried the lobster ragoons, yellowtail sashimi, fried rice and peking duck. Everything was phenomenal and my GF said that the peking duck was as good as any she has had in her extensive travels throughout Asia. We sat outside, largely because the inside is extremely noisy. That being said, the inside is super cool looking and the music is pretty good too. The only downside was our waiter...he was attentive enough, but generally seemed to be disinterested in whether we were enjoying ourselves. We definitely have plans to go back soon and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Great food, atmosphere and service. I would like to know from the readers what do you think about my experience. My husband, daughter, and I had dinner and drinks which were superb. The waitress w as fabulous and we left very happy. We have been to Echos many many times. When we went to the valet to get our car the manager came out with our bill to tell us that we did not leave any tip in front of everyone and that the tip is supposed to be 20%, what would you have done? I really had forgotten so I apologized and added the tip. On my way to the hotel I started to think about it and I was furious. How dare he demanded the tip in such an open way. Am I right in being furious? Should I say something? Or was the manager right?

The cocktails here are hands-down the best I had in Palm Beach. You really can't go wrong with any of them, and if you get to the bar before 7, cocktails are 1/2 off... so try a bunch. Charles was an incredibly hospitable bartender and we decided to sit at the bar for dinner and chat with him rather than take our reserved table. Honestly, the drinks and service is about where the good stuff stopped. The sushi was not good. I couldn't eat the spicy tuna roll because it was so fishy. I questioned whether it had gone bad. In my limited experience, come to Echo for the happy hour cocktails, charming bartender, and free edamame at the bar.

Great dining experience! The service was great and really wend out to the way to make sure you were happy. We started out with the spicy tuna roll and shrimp and scallop dumpling. The roll was good but on average with other restaurants. The shrimp and scallop dumpling was excellent stuffed with large pieces of fish. For our main course we decided to share an entree and sushi. We ordered the Szechwan Beef, and it was not what we were hoping for. The sauce was too think and wasn't spicy. It reminded me of something you would get at PF Changs. The waiter stop by and saw that we weren't happy and offered to remake the dish for us. Unfortunately the second one was about the same, and they offered to get us something else. Since we were also getting sushi we just decided to stick with what we had. One highlight was the side of sauces they brought us with the beef. Their homemade Sambal was excellent. The sushi on the other hand was not a let down. We ordered salmon, hamachi, maguro, and white tuna, and all of them were excellent. So fresh and full of flavor, we decided to go for a second round. The only disappointment was that they were out of tamago, which I'm not sure how that happens. I always enjoy it as my dessert sushi. During our dinner the manager stopped by to check in on us since we weren't thrilled with the Szechwan Beef. It was nice to see a manager that was aware and cared about what was going on with their customers. When we got our bill the waiter let us know he took off the beef for us, which we were not expecting or looking for. I was pleasantly surprised. It's kind of sad when your surprised to get great customer service at a restaurant these days. I will for sure be back here again, and recommend this place to anyone.

GREAT food, nice bar tenders, good setting, five stars for me. Chic but loud, during the winter, terrace dining is the best. Sushi dishes are insane. Not cheap but worth it. Watch out for the police going home, take a cab...

Stopped for drinks at the Dragonfly Lounge. The bar was packed on the night before Christmas Eve. A 30 plus crowd, predominantly female dressed for a night on the town. The bartender, Charles. Could not have been friendlier, he asked if I preferred my martini shaken or stirred. Low lights, clubby music. The TV turned to sports was a misstep. But otherwise, a cool place for pre-dinner cocktails.

My friends and I go there for happy hour all the time. LOVE their litchee martini! My favorite sushi rolls are the spicy salmon and the Palm Beach roll with shrimp. The presentation is great as are the fresh ingredients. The bartenders are very nice and attentive. Great experience overall....keeps me going back again and again. For happy hour (5.30-7pm weekdays; half price drinks and rolls) the bar is nice but I prefer to sit on the patio if the weather is good.

Went there again last night and once again amazing as always.. Service was great food was great.. My date loved his food the only thing I didn't think was cool, my date ordered a simple special made order of tuna sashimi that wasn't on the menu and they charged like $50 for it... I have never eaten a simple tuna sashimi with an avocado on top with Spicy cause that would cost that much.. It was good but way over priced other then that Perfect as always....

Creative menu, chic atmosphere, excellent food. Not a stellar sushi place, per say, and overpriced, for sure, but overall Echo offers a superbly enjoyable take on modern Asian. If you don't pigeon-hole it as a "sushi place," and dare to order adventurously, you won't be disappointed.

Came here recently for dinner. This is a restaurant that is affiliated with The Breakers...but not actually in the hotel. They start you off with some edamame which is nice. We got some sushi rolls for appetizer...we had a spicy salmon which was good...pretty standard, but we also got a California roll topped with fried conch...it was fantastic!! For our main course we got an order of the spare ribs...which were incredibly tender and then split the lemon chicken...that was just ok. Sadly we were too full for dessert, but they have these souflees which are baked to order and looked divine! Overall a delicious meal with good service, cool ambiance and not terribly expensive. Would definitely come back.

Memo to Echo and all other "Pan-Asian" restaurants in Palm Beach County: "If you can't offer good sushi, then don't serve it!" In Echo's case, the mediocre sushi casts a dark cloud over very good food otherwise. My wife and I ordered a series of appetizer plates, including: the Thai Beef Salad (lettuce was a little wilted), the Salt and Pepper Calamari and Echo Fried Rice - all of which were tasty. However, Echo did not pass my raw fish acid test. Everytime I try sushi at a new place, especially a "gaijin" establishment, I always order one piece each of tuna, salmon and yellowtail to begin. If those samples are good, then I feel comfortable to order more adventurous items. While these were OK (not great), a fellow diner sitting next to us offered that the Uni (sea urchin) "tasted like ****." The decor was a little unusual - a strange blend of modern, Asian and outright tacky influences all combined into one... If Echo cut the menu in half and focused on the dishes they execute well, the experience could be consistently superior and garner better ratings. Despite our mixed experience, it's still a good place to go for a good, albeit reasonably expensive, meal and we will return. We now know how to order and our next trip will benefit accordingly.

Had dinner here today. I realize I am in the minority here but, wow is this place overpriced for mediocre sushi. nothing seemed particularly fresh and the combinations of fish/sauces/flavors were just odd. the cooked food was better, but not by much. and while the service was attentive enough, our waitress was cold and stand-offish. not something you would expect from a restaurant associated with the breakers. chix pad thai - chicken was poor quality but flavor was ok whole fried snapper - this was def. the highlight. scrumptious! thai curry - tasted like typical curry powder and coconut milk cucumber roll - inedible marinated wahoo - best of the raw selections but over powered by mango sauce.

This is a great trendy spot in Palm Beach for dinner and sushi. It has a fabulous hip atmosphere and the food is incredible. You can also sit at the "Dragonfly" bar for a cocktail or eat at the sushi bar. All of the sushi is amazingly prepared and they don't skimp on the good stuff. The Lobster Rangoon appetizer is awesome, but you only get 3 so its a pricey treat. One of their prize desserts is a Chocolate Souffle which is so delicious and comes with a heaping spoon of frozen Baileys shoved into the center of it at the table. A tip on ordering this though, order it when you sit down to eat because 1) they run out fast and 2) they take a long time to make so it's best to pre-order it so you aren't sitting there for eternity. On busy nights you need a reservation or you'll be waiting for some time to get seated but I've gone on weeknights for dinner and was seated right away. Another tip, they are either owned or are affiliated with The Breakers Hotel so if you are in town you can grab a shuttle from the hotel to this restaurant (and take the shuttle back!) and they also accept The Breakers Gift cards. My mom and I give each other Breakers cards for holidays all the time so it's nice to be able to use them here. It's pricey, but definitely worth the treat! My go-to spot for a fun night out, an anniversary dinner or drinks with friends.

Another Atmosphere First, Fish Second Sushi Restaurant. I find myself going here only because good sushi is hard to find in Palm Beach. I would put Fresh Market's Tuna Rolls up against Echo any day. It is owned by the Breakers, but they definitely fail to deliver on the same experience as any of the restaurants inside the hotel. If you are looking to flex your wallet muscle with a valet parking sushi experience, then this is the place. If you want fish first and atmosphere second, perhaps other options would suit you better.

Will some one please open a new sushi place in palm beach already. I am always made to eat here and find the setting and the crowd (always bumping into old friends) to be the highlights. The dining room is nice enough, but the service seems confused and poorly managed. Every time I come it takes way too long to get simple appetizers like edemame. They were not busy, yet we were made to wait and wait for mediocre food. I will only be back if I am desperate for sushi.

Sushi is excellent - especially if you go for some of the more unique rolls. Desserts are even better - especially the souffle which has to be ordered in advance (and is a MUST!). Atmosphere is loud and busy but the wait staff are attentive and helpful with selections. Hot appetizers and mains to try include the short-ribs, duck and cod. The bar scene and outdoor patio (with heat lamps) look younger and fun.

This is definitely a 5 star if it weren't so damned expensive. My wife an I will easily drop 2 bills on a friday night here. But WOW is the food spectacular. The blue fin toro at Echo is the best quality I've ever had and it feels like each piece of sushi is hand selected. The bar is solid, and they pour stiff drinks, which is nice. For an occasion, I'd definitely recommend Echo.

After a night at Echo I felt it was my duty to write a review. We sat at the bar and the bartender made our night. He was very personable and went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure our experience was first class. He could see my wife was very indecisive in choosing a cocktail. She was thinking of drinking a margarita and he asked her if she liked grapes. He concocted a grape infused margarita and she loved it. Great start. From there we decided to star with edamame which was perfect to pick at with our drinks. We were only going for a light dinner so we decided to split the miso sea bass with a side of fried rice. The fish was to die for and the rice was honestly the best fried rice I had ever had. After a few more drinks the bartender recommended some sorbet to keep it light. It was a perfect ending. This restaurant is a must try if you are out on Palm Beach. 5 stars all the way.

  • J R.

I'm giving this place five stars just for d-bag watching. So entertaining to see a bunch of wannabes from Iowa trying to ball-out in their knockoff Brooks blazers. But I digress. I've been meaning to go here for awhile, but never went on the account that some of my very "particular" girlfriends dubbed it only palatable. I disagree. The whole experience was great. Cocktails were unique and delicious (Ginger pearls and lychees and St. Elderflower- swoon). The sushi was good, but the chocolate souffle was amazeballs. Great service and atmosphere, and the people watching will keep you laughing even after your date sees the bill.

Although it is a bit pricey (it is Palm Beach duh...), Echo is the place to go for Asian inspired on the island. The atmosphere is hip, the drinks are great and the Sushi is the best in town. Be prepared for a wait without a reservation and be prepared to break out the wallet. Better yet... have somebody treat you.

Sure, it's a little pricey, but if that bothers you, then you should leave Palm Beach immediately. I know the whole pan-Asian thing can deter serious foodies, but the food here is very good and definitely worth trying at least once.

Love this place! The Breakers Hotel got it right with amazing decor and delicous food. The service is perfection. A sexy spot for date night and also can accommodate the kiddies if needed. The sushi is fresh and the desserts are to die for.

We were staying here for a conference at the Breakers and ventured off the property for some dinner. I ordered the pad thai and the spicey conch maki. The dishes were so fresh! We were only here for 5 days and ended up getting take out one of the nights to bring back to the hotel. The sushi was by far some of the best sushi I have ever had.

You can't go wrong with Echo: fabulous sushi, wonderful pan-Asian cuisine, great cocktail menu, great Saki selection, beautiful decor...overall, a wonderful place. To top it all off, the service was great for our party of 14. Dinner was well executed and I was pleasantly surprised at the fantastic desserts! I usually don't associate Asian cuisine and souffle, but they pulled it off...magnificently.. I can't wait to go back!

Staying at The Breakers for a couple days with my husband. Decided to hit Echo since it was close and accessible by complimentary shuttle (restaurant is Breakers owned). Our meal was suprisingly very good ... .!!! Unlike may of the reviewers, we did not order sushi. We started with the Salt & Pepper Calamari - fresh and tender, served on a bed of toasted vermicelli mixed with chilli peppers and a great homemade chilli sauce - perfect balance of sweet and spicy. For entrees, my husband had the Spicy Shredded Beef with Scallion Pancakes - spicy but perfectly prepared and I had the Thai Chicken Curry and a side of Bok Choy and Mushrooms in a wine sauce. The dish was very tasty, no need to have it with rice (must order it separately).Along with our meal, we had wine and cocktails (champagne w/ passion fruit). The ambience was lively and service was good. My only regret was not leaving room for dessert.

One of my fav. trendy spots in PB. Good, relaxed atmosphere. Really good fresh food. Can get pretty noisy for a large area. It's a must go spot. However, I always get a little sick from their overpriced rice (a little too greasy). I do recommend the Mongolian Beef, Duck, Rib app., and choc. SOUFFLE! Sushi is not so fresh, in my opinion.
